Their complexion, how the two have kept their gray beard and the aura oozing from them will convince anyone that they are twins or the same person.

The only difference is one stands as an ex military ruler and founder of a political party and the other is a 58 year old American teacher and a fashion model who’s stylish pictures earned him the title #MeStealYourGrandma.

Former President of Ghana, H.E Flt. Lt. JJ Rawlings celebrated his 73rd birthday yesterday June 22 and to mark the day many recalls all the great feat he has accomplished for the country.

As part of activities to mark the day, the former President joined his wife and beautiful daughters in a rather simple celebration with some family photos taken.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also extended a spirit-filled birthday message to Former President in a tweet that called for longevity for the 73 year old man.

“I wish the former President of the Republic, H.E Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings a happy 73rd birthday. May Allah preserve him and grant him good health to continue to help in nation-building,” he tweeted.

Rawlings was Ghana’s first President in the Fourth Republic, serving from the year 1993 to 2001.

Former President of Ghana and founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Flt Lt. Jerry John Rawlings is an interesting character even beyond politics.

Some of the fondest memories of the ex-president in the entertainment arena in Ghana are the famous ‘boom’ speeches he’s made in the past which are often used as jingles on many radio and television channels in the country.

Aside that, JJ Rawlings, as he is often called, is such an intriguing personality who has a presence of humor and warmth whenever he’s in public or interacts with media people.

In a video sighted by AfricaCelebrities.com, Rawlings had been sandwiched by two people- one of whom is Nana Ama McBrown- as they posed to take a picture.

Distracted by what was going on, Rawlings failed to look at the camera the first time the picture was taken. So he apologized and asked that the photo should be take again.

Then after the picture was taken, Nana Ama- who was already in Rawlings’ embrace- looked up to him as if to check why he was apologizing and at the same time doing so with smiles all over her face.

Upon seeing the look on Nana Ama’s face, Rawlings offered a gentle peg on Nana Ama’s cheek and it was received with warmth.

While both of them were reacting to the incident with laughter, Rawlings jokingly teased- as if to say ‘I know you people are going to make a big deal out of this’- saying in Ga ‘eey someone is dead back there‘.

Jerry John Rawlings is a former Ghanaian military leader and politician who ruled the country from 1981 to 2001 and also for a brief period in 1979. He led a military junta until 1992 and then served two terms as the democratically elected President of Ghana.

The contestants numbering 26 are currently in the Miss Malaika bootcamp for the 17th edition of the beauty pageant. The beauty pageant is so far one of Ghana’s most trusted, drama-free and prestigious pageants that focus on the contestants’ intelligent, eloquent, bold and other queenly qualities.

Kevin Taylor, the founder of ‘With All Due Respect’ in a video on his Facebook wall referred to Ex-President Rawlings as a hypocrite.

The journalist was infuriated by the ex-presidents’ response to a question posed to him by Joy FM’s Maxwell Agbagba about the recent expose by Manasseh Azure titled ‘ Donkomi’ and other corruption issues in the NPP Government.

When asked what he made of the expose, he responded in the negative saying ‘No, I haven’t heard of it. I am not keeping abreast of some of these events.’

This got Kevin angry as he referred to him in the video as a greedy, envious and born hypocrite.

In Kevin’s words ‘ You are a hypocrite. You are a disgrace. Jj Rawlings, you have become a puppet on the lap of a midget. Your dignity has been washed away by greed, envy, childishness, and hypocrisy because your wife was not allowed to enter the political space to exhibit her greed and ignorance.

He accused the ex-president of his utterances being the reason Ghana is underdeveloped, experiencing high corruption, unprecedented tribalism and the like. He also alleged JJ RAWLINGS worshiping the President, Nana Akufo-Addo as a god.
