King of the Street, Kwaw ‘Abodam’ Kese has penned a plea to Ghanaian to respect the dead for once and let Azonto music rest peacefully in its graves.

For the past week, Ghanaian musicians have been aiming at the throats of each other on who really is the originator of the once famed music genre.

The likes of Gasmilla, Keche, Stay Jay, to mention a few, have all claimed leader and pioneer in the music genre and have attacked anyone who thinks otherwise.

Kwawkese has added his voice to the many who believe the genre is dead and buried and should be left at such.

The hip life artist took to twitter to advice his colleagues to allow the dead rest in peace – with reference to Azonto music.

In 2012, Ghana was leading the revolution of African music with one tune ‘Azonto Music’.

With the sound, came a dance so enticing that American Pop singer Chris Brown learnt the moves and used it in his music video.

Musicians like Guru, Keche, Sarkodie, Gasmilla, E.L, Fuse ODG and Stay Jay leading the course for world domination. Ghana was back on top and gained world recognition after High Life.

The genre disappeared all of a sudden but thanks to Sarkodie, few weeks ago, reignited the fire with his Bring Back Azonto agenda.

The agenda began with BET award winning artist, Sarkodie, after he promised to drop a verse on any Azonto song from any artist for free in the bid to resurrect the genre of music and dance.

Magnom, on the other hand, believes the genre was never dead and those “who think such left the genre are those who were scared to be affiliated to it when the world stopped dancing.”

He questioned the motive behind the sudden interest in bringing back the genre and called people now running after it ‘little minds’ in a series of tweets.
