A thirty-one year old man identified as Rexlawson Jonson, is in the grips of the police for allegedly beating his 26 years old girlfriend to death.

The man was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command on October 30 over the alleged murder of Patricia John, his 26 years old girlfriend.

The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi released a statement that states that the police acted on a report by the manager of Molayo Hotel, Adebayo Aladesuyi. The manager reported that, they found the dead body in the hotel room with bruises on her neck when they were doing their routine check-up.

”On the strength of the report, the DPO Ibafo division Csp Jide Joshua led his detectives to the scene and recovered the corpse to Olabisi Onabanjo University teaching hospital in Shagamu for post mortem examination.

Preliminary investigation later revealed that the deceased checked into the hotel with a man who sneaked out of the hotel after killing the woman.

Consequently, the DPO and his men commenced technical and intelligence based investigation which led to unraveling the identity of the suspect. He was subsequently traced and apprehended by the detectives.

On interrogation, he confessed checking into the hotel with the deceased and that they had a misunderstanding which led to physical assault between them. In the process, he said the woman collapsed and gave up the ghost. He subsequently left the corpse in the room and sneaked out of the hotel.”the statement read.

Eyewitness accounts coming on the murder of Ekow Quansah Hayford, a Ghanaian Member of Parliament, says the gunmen who shot him dead allegedly accused him of contributing to the difficulty of life in the country.

According to the reports, the robbers made the MP get down from his car andshot him twice when the MP identified himself during their operation.

The witness said after the Mr Quansah Hayford was shot at the back of his car, he kept shouting “please give me water to drink” but he was left there.

It was also indicated that he was attacked at about 1 am on Friday by six armed highway robbers. They blocked the Abeadze Dominase – Abeadze Duadzi – Mankessim road which was being traveled by the MP and his entourage on their way back from a campaign trip.

The death of Mr. Quansah have been mourned by many of his constituents and the President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo has ordered the police to get get suspects to book.

Member of Parliament for The Mfantseman Constituency in Ghana, Ekow Quansah Hayford, has been reportedly shot dead by unknown assailants.

The 49-year-old lawmaker was gunned down while returning from a political campaign tour on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road in the Central Region at about 1am on Friday, October 9, 2020, reports say.

Confirming the incident to the press, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr Owoahene Acheampong of the Mankessin Divisional Police Command said information and investigation were still ongoing on the case.

Eyewitness reports told local newspapers that the suspects stopped the lawmaker’s vehicle but his driver tried to escape resulting in him getting shot first.

He lost control of the wheels and the robbers ordered them out of the vehicle. It is said the MP was shot after they asked which of them was Ekow Kwansah.

The deceased MP had filed his nomination for re-election Thursday [October 8, 2020] and met with the Central Regional executives of the NPP before he set off on the campaign trip.

The eyewitness said he heard two gunshots.

An incident in South Africa has landed a 27 year old woman in court after she reportedly murdered a certain Christinah Sitsele for chasing her boyfriend.

The suspect was said to be apprehended on Monday, September 7, at Cyferkuil village near Brits after she stabbed Ditsele with a knife in the chest, Police spokesperson, Lt-Col Amanda Funani confirmed.

She was arraigned before the Moretele magistrate’s court in the North West, South Africa on Wednesday, September 9.

“It is alleged that the suspect had an argument with her 22-year-old boyfriend accusing him of cheating with the victim,” Funani said. “It is alleged that the suspect then saw Ditsele, whom she grabbed, pushed to the ground and stabbed in the chest.” he added.

The victim, Ditsele, was transported to the Kutlwaning Clinic where she was declared dead and the suspect was arrested and charged with murder.

Seven women, on Thursday July 30, were found dead in a beauty salon in the Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State, Nigeria.

Confirming the news to local papers, Wasiu Abiodun, Spokesperson of the State police command, said the victims, two married and five single ladies met their death when they went to the said salon to make their hair.

The area had experienced a heavy downpour the same day and electricity was cut off, according to sources.

The Saloon in order to continue working used a generator and closed the door, eyewitnesses say the women died from inhaling fumes from the generator.

Two women choked to death on the spot while five died in the hospital. Waisu said investigation into the incident has began and the bodies have been released to the families.
