The River State Police Command in Nigeria has been charged by a human rights activist, Prince Wiro, to investigate its operatives accused of arresting and raping a widow.

A widow,32, alleged that some policemen at the Sakpenwa Police Division, Tai Local Government Area, on Tuesday July 28, arrested her for not wearing face mask and took her to a guest house where one officer raped her at gunpoint.

She said,
“I was returning from Bori to Port Harcourt when I met some police officers at a checkpoint. They arrested me for not wearing nose mask. They kept me long there with them.

“Thereafter they carried me from one place to the other, claiming they want to take me to the police station but never took me to any police station.

“After some time, they took me to a guest house where one of them raped me till dawn. His name is Inspector Peter Iba of Sakpenwa Police Station.”

Wiro, is therefore charging the police command to open an immidiate investigation into the alleged rape of the widow by officers.

The Police command has also reacted to the news saying they invited the lady to hear her side of the story and write a statement adding that investigation has commenced.

The Inspector-general of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the investigation into all rape allegations leveled against Nigerian music icon, Oladapo Oyebanjo aka D’Banj.

Miss Seyitan Babatayo in a Twitter thread in early June had told the story of how D’Banj allegedly raped her at a hotel two years ago at an all-white party in December 2018.

The order was sent in a letter signed by the signed by the Principal Staff Officer to the IG, DCP Idowu Owohunwa with reference number CB.7000/IGP.SEC/ABJ/VOl.484/80.

The letter was in response to a petition written to the IG by Mr. Tommy Ojoge-Daniel, a lawyer to Miss Seyitan Babatayo, who accused D’Banj of raping her in 2018.

“I forward herewith copy of letter dated June 5, 2020 received from Ojoge, Omileye and Partners on the above underlined subject. I am to respectfully convey the directive of the Inspector-General of Police that you treat. Accept the assurances of my esteemed regards please.” The letter read in parts.

Celebrity Barman and Instagram star Cubana Chief Priest has been detained by the Nigerian Police Force, reports say.

According to close sources in the Police, Cubana Chief Priest, born Pascal Okechukwu, was invited for questioning over abuse of police escort and weapons as well as unexplained wealth but was later detained.

Prior to his arrest, Cubana chief was seen on his social media pages throwing bundles of Naira notes to a mammoth crowd and also posting pictures of himself living large.

The source said his arrest was an order from the Office of the Inspector-general of Police who has expressed shock over the misuse of police personnel by the celebrity.

“We have detained Cubana Chief Priest and he is facing interrogation for misuse of police personnel as well illegal use of weapon and his extravagant and unexplained lifestyle.” He was quoted saying.

E-Money, over the week, has been faced with series of interrogations by the police after he was reported to have abused privileges of having a police escort.

On Tuesday, May 12, 2020, E-Money was invited to the Police Headquarters Annex by Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu for investigation.

The chairman of Five Star Group came under heavy criticism after it was observed that he was using the police like domestic staffs.

Reacting to E-money’s investigations, Tony Oneweek said no one interrogated the music mogul when he was poor but the police are after him trying to find the source of his wealth.

Tony shared an old picture of E-Money and KCee capturing a time when they where broke and struggling to breakthrough.

He wrote;

“NOBODY INVESTIGATES YOUR POVERTY.

Nigeria sef. When E-Money and his elder brother Kaycee Limpopo were in the street, police didn’t investigate him oooo. Now he is rich, they want to investigate his wealth. Like my brother OC Emcee said: “Nobody investigates ur poverty”.

I am happy that E-Money has the “required” Goodwill that set him free (within a few hours) from this aborted embarrassment. Emeka is a good man. He is different, benevolent and very humble. Some Igbos do not love themselves shaa. Sad to hear that E-Money’s travail was ignited by a fellow Igbo man. Na waa”

The Lagos Police is currently questioning Nigerian music director, Clarence Peters over the death of famed dancer Love Divines aka Kodak, according to reports reaching us.

Kodak was declared dead at the hospital after she was electrocuted at Clarence Peters’ house on Wednesday which she was charging her phone.

Reports say she suffered various degrees of burns when her phone fell on her body. She was barefooted and operating her phone when the unfortunate occurred, it added.
