A family in Elburgon, Nakuru mourn the loss of their 14 year old son who committed suicide by hanging himself. The minor who was a Form One student at Mau Summit Secondary school is reported to have hanged himself after a quarrel with his brother when grazing cows in a maize field.

Salim Langat the brother of the deceased reported that he had told his brother to watch over a cow but ended up getting into an argument with the minor over the order. It seemed like a typical siblings quarrel at first. However, the quarrel quickly escalated and the deceased threatened to hack Salim with a panga at the peak of his anger.

According to reporters from The Nation Newspaper, Salim Langat was rescued from his furious brother who then untied the cow he was asked to watch and ran away with the rope. His relatives searched for him even with the on set of heavy rains. The 14 year old’s body was eventually found hanging from a tree. No suicide note was left to explain the unfortunate incident.
