Akufo-Addo Suspends PPA Boss After Manasseh’s Expose

The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, has suspended the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Mr. AB Adjei, with immediate effect.

This comes barely 24 hours after the expose by investigative journalist, Manasseh Azuri Awuni, dubbed #Donkomi Contracts For Sale.

In the documentary aired on Joy News TV, the PPA boss is seen taking monies and awarding to contracts to companies he claims were for his cousin.

In a press released issued by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, the statement cited allegations in the documentary as well as conflict of interest to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) and those relating to potential acts of corruption to the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

The Deputy CEO of the PPA will take over the office of Mr. AB Adjei.
