JUST IN: Soldiers Gun Down 3 Illegal Miners at Ayamfuri
They were said to have been mining for gold on a piece of land, believed to be part of the concession of Perseus Mining Company Limited, when the soldiers rounded them up and opened fire.
Reports coming in from MyNewsGh.com has confirmed that 3 illegal miners have been gunned down by operatives of the Operation Vanguard at Ayamfuri in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region, as the soldiers continue to enforce government’s clamp down on illegal mining.

Two of the victims have been confirmed dead but the Mmerantiehene (Youth chief) of Ayamfuri, Nana Kwabena Okyere who confirmed the development to this portal says the third person is still in the custody of the soldiers and his current condition is unknown.

He gave the names of the Victims as Kwaku Agyei, “Kay” and Fabio, whom he said are all natives of the town.
The Ayamfuri Township is currently in a state of disquiet as youth groups have pitched camps at vantage points, ready to face the soldiers in what could turn a more bloody carnage if authorities do not act swiftly.
