Pope Rejects Expensive Hotel For Mozambique Visit
Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church has rejected an expensive hotel in Maputo, Mozambique’s capital selected by the planning committee for his three-day state visit next month.
The pope has directed a modest accommodation should be selected. Bishop António Juliasse Ferreira Sandramo, told the press that the pontiff vetoed the first choice sent by the planning team to the Vatican.
Pope Francis will lead mass at the 42,000 seat Zimpeto National Stadium in Maputo. He will also have talks with government officials.
The pope will travel to Madagascar as his next stopover. Alcohol and food has been around the precincts of the venue.
The Catholic head has already visited many African countries which are Kenya, Uganda, Central African Republic, Egypt and Morocco.
