Just In: Thieves Pose As Policemen and Steal Sh 72 Million From Stanchart in Nairobi West
At around 9.00 am this morning, thieves made away with a whooping Sh. 72 Million from Stanchart Bank. The heist happened in the branch in Nairobi West. According to Nation News, the robbers have not yet been caught. They made away with 13 bags of cash. They also demanded passwords and stole money from Standard Chartered ATMs.
The thieves were masquerading as police officers and stole the money that was in transit on a G4S van. They stole from the G4S employees who were under the impression that the criminals escorting them were officers of the law. Police investigations are ongoing.
