Mugabe Died A Very Bitter Man – Nephew

The ex-president of Zimbabwe whose death was announced last week by President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe according to his nephew died a very bitter man.

Mugabe who ruled Zimbabwe for four decades was expelled after he fired his deputy, the now sitting president of Zimbabwe and many other violent political acts against his opponents. The firing of his deputy made his political circles feel he was preparing for his wife Grace Mugabe to succeed him.

Leo Mugabe, his nephew disclosed that Mugabe died a very bitter man because the overthrow was a dent to his legacy. He added that “Imagine people you trusted – people that were guarding you, looking after you – [turning] against you” He told the BBC from his uncle’s rural home that it was not an easy thing for Mugabe to take.

Mugabe died last Friday in Singapore after a long illness. His body is expected to be flown to Zimbabwe by Wednesday. His official funeral will take place on Saturday at the National Sports Stadium in Harare, according to government officials.
