Kenyatta University students have been on strike for two days now. Day 2 of the strike was definitely the most memorable as students knocked down a wall and scared police off.
On day one of the strike, students disrupted classes as they protested. They were stopped by police using tear gas. On day 2 however, the students overpowered police who ended up running away for reinforcements.
Following the destruction of University property, the University Senate has decided to close the university until further notice. Students started evacuating the school from last night.
Whenever school property is destroyed during a strike, all students pay for the damage in their fee. For sure, when school reopens, all parents will dig deeper into their pockets because of this industrial action.
