Yesterday night, the normal alcoblow police rounds saw two men arrested for driving while drunk in the streets of Nairobi. What was a normal arrest escalated into drama that was caught on camera.

The two men arrested made a spectacle of the arrest because apparently, they are PhD holders. One of the arrested was at the forefront of hurling insults at the police over the arrest. Check the video below;

In the video making rounds on social media, the outspoken drunk constantly vocalizes the fact that he went to University and got a PhD and the police men did not. “I went to the University where none of you have ever qualified for.”

My fellow Kenyans, my fellow Africans – Where did we go wrong? Since when does holding a degree or PhD make us think we are excepted from the law? How many PhD holders are in leadership or in the corporate world making a fool of themselves and of the people they lead?

Insulting police officers (however corrupt they may be) or any other person who we feel is “less learned” does not make us any smarter. On the contrary, it only makes us less smart than the person who chooses to endanger their lives and those of others by driving when drunk…#WajingaSisi
