Masai Ujiri, the president of the Toronto based NBA Team, was live on the talk show ‘JK Live’ hosted by Kenyan award winning journalist and best selling author Jeff Koinange where he opened up about sports administration and leadership in Africa.
Masai Ujiri said he was overwhelmed that requests came from young athletes rather than sports administrators in Africa to come in a bid to learn and exchange ideas on sports administration.
He said “I would love for sport administrators in Africa to just come spend time with me in Toronto to learn. No ego. I get a lot of requests from young people but not the administrators.”
The Half Nigerian-Half Kenyan also talked about the age-long lack of opportunities on the African continent where massive talents abound. He emphasized the need to create those opportunities by calling on all leaders in Africa to invest in sports professionally.
