American rapper Quavo, One half of music duo Migos, has finally completed high school after quitting years ago to pursue music.

Reports say Quavo quit school few months before his graduation to pursue full time music. He announced on Friday that he can now boast of graduating high school with the class of 2020.

Sharing his new achievement with his fans, he quizzed his fans which college they think he should enroll in.

“Finally Can Say I Graduated High School Class Of 2020 We Lit . Now What College Should I Go To?” he said in his caption.

To celebrate, he promised to drop a song for his fans.

Kenya’s favorite actress Kate Actress aka Celina is a high class mother of two with a high class life.

She recently posted a picture enrolling her son into high school; not just any high school but a high class one.

The new mum has enrolled her eldest son Leon into Nova Pioneer School to join form 1. She shared a caption about her sadness in seeing him leave.

“Balancing emotions today, one is leaving, the other one just arrived! Motherhood is a beautiful emotional roller coaster!”

Now, emotions aside let’s talk about Nova Pioneer. Thanks to the internet, we know just how much damage it costs to enroll a child there in high school.

For first term, tuition and boarding fees add up to Ksh. 178,000. For second term and third term, the fees are Ksh. 158,000 per term.

Therefore, for the entire academic year, the total fees add up to Ksh. 494,000. That’s almost half a million shillings.

However, that’s not all. There’s still a one time enrollment fee of Ksh. 4000 and Caution fee that’s Ksh. 10,000.

Good news is that caution fee is refundable when your child graduates. However, damages will be deducted from that Ksh. 10,000 if your child breaks anything in that 4 year period.

Nova Pioneer is one of the best schools in Kenya so I guess the fee fits the facility.

The school provides state of the art technology, accident insurance cover, incredible meals and private music and sports professionals for extracurricular activities.

Kate actress does not lack money. Together with her famous husband Phil, half a million a year is definitely a worthy academic investment.

High schools in Africa especially boarding schools are institutions of serious learning and severe punishments.

A Kenyan user on twitter @Katanuh_ started a thread of conversations after asking people to share the worst punishment they ever got in high school.

“Mine was being forced to dance ballet in the seniors dormitory every night for a week,”

“It was because my mother gave me a pretty red night gown that looked like I was going to a ball. All I could do then was cry and dance,” read one response.

“I was told to look after about 90 cattle for a week. I was in charge of milking them to sell the milk,”

“Once the cows strayed to Kangemi and I ended up selling two of them,” wrote another twitter user.

“We had this one teacher who would ask you to wash a tree, scrub it with soap, rinse it and then apply your lotion or Vaseline to the tree,” read yet another response.

“I once suck out of school. I was told to ask my father to bring a roll of barbed wire and seal the opening where I sneaked out from…with my father!”

Another response read ” We were told to sit on hot tarmac because we didn’t laugh at a teacher’s joke!”

“Mine was when I was told to find the queen of ants alive I haven’t forgotten,” wrote @MathewJnR

Another response read “I was caught sleeping in class during evening preps and forced to sleep on dewy grass the whole time outside.”

From the many other stories shared on the thread, one thing is clear. Punishments were chosen for the amusement of teachers.

Teachers clearly did not pick punishments to correct bad behavior. They picked punishments to probably execute their fetishes for torture.

A High School student was hospitalised after being harmed by a dozen students. The gang allegedly beat him up and then rubbed pepper on his wounds. The Form 3 boy who was attacked is a student from St. Mary’s Junior Seminary Secondary School in Kwale. He claimed that he was tortured by his colleagues on suspicion of stealing a phone.

The boy reported that the students hit him on his head, hands, back and legs. They beat him for almost six hours using canes and belts on September 8th. They tied his hands as they tried to force a confession out of him over the stolen mobile phone. When they could not get the confession out of the student, the students rubbed chili pepper on the wounds they had inflicted.

It took the intervention of a Form four student who was passing by to rescue the student from the torture. The boy was instructed to go to a hospital, with his mother expressing shock when her son showed up in a blood-stained shirt.The boy’s mother questioned why the school’s boarding master had told him to go to the hospital by himself. She reported the matter to the police under OB number 36/08/092019 as the school administration suspended the 12 students involved in the attack.
