1. Hushpuppi (Worth at least $450 Million )

Ray Hushpuppi is the textbook to study if you want to become rich and affluent with unidentified source of wealth. unfortunate for him, his glamorous lifestyle on Instagram gave lead his arrest in Dubai earlier this year.

He is currently facing series of lawsuits on the charges of Internet fraud and a tall list of alleged crimes.

Hushpuppi runs a credit card and insurance scam that target the elite citizens of the US, UK, Austria, Luxembourg, France, South Africa, and some parts of Asia and the Middle East. The FBI revealed that Hushpuppi had acquired at least $450 Million from clients and investors from all across the world. 

He was arrested alongside 12 other internet fraudsters including Mr. Woodberry, Jamal, and Fish Sticks. Hushpuppi was also tagged as the most wanted scammer in Nigeria by the EFCC.

Socialite Mompha, real name Ismaila Mustapha, has been re-arrested by the Economic Crimes Commission EFCC, reports say.

It is said that the social media billionaire was re-arrested when he went to EFCC office in Lagos to reclaim his seized possessions last Friday.

Mompha had barely left the premises of the EFCC office in Ikoyi after collecting the items on Friday when operatives of the anti-graft agency and took him into custody.

His lawyer confirmed his re-arrest saying; “I am filing processes tomorrow (Tuesday). They didn’t tell us why they are detaining him. They have not told us the basis for this re-arrest.

“As far as we are concerned, the EFCC is seeking to overreach the court because this is coming after we filed our no-case submission to the charges. When they had the opportunity to amend their charges they didn’t and they are claiming that there is a new charge.”

A spokes person from EFCC however said Mompha’s re-arrest is related to internet fraud.

The government of Nigeria has finally reacted to the arrest and subsequent extradition of internet sensation Hushpuppi to the United States to face trial for cyber crimes.

The Foreign Affairs minister, Geoffrey Onyeama in an interview highlighted the effects such news had on the country’s image in the international world.

He chastised the few Nigerians who are into internet fraud thereby bringing shame to the country. He added that these acts overrun the good deeds Nigerians outside are doing just to market their country.

In a related development, the chairperson of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has called for the law to deal with Hushpuppi whose real name is Ramoni Igbalode Abass.

In a statement on her official Twitter handle, she reiterated that some few bad Nigerians are spoiling the country’s image as against those who do several jobs and live good lives.

The millionaire social media braggart is currently being held in an American prison awaiting his trial after he was arrested last month on internet fraud charges.

Co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls campaign group, Aisha Yusufu, has descended heavily on the President of Nigeria,Buhari, accusing him of fraud.

Aisha Yusufu, alleged that President Buhari is doing same work as Nigerian Instagram celebrity and accused Internet fraudster Hushpuppi.

The angered activist claimed on social media that Buhari does not only fraud financially but politically adding that the President should render account of his 2015 campaign donations.

The United States government has sanctioned six Nigerians for allegedly defrauding its citizens and businesses over $6 million through the internet.

US Secretary of States, Micheal Pompeo, made this known in a statement published on the Treasury Department website on Tuesday.

Mr Pompeo revealed in part of the statement that the “money was also stolen from innocent Americans by romance fraud, in which the designees masqueraded as affectionate partners to gain trust from victims.”

The Nigerians listed were identified as Benson Orson, Kayode Abiola, Ogunshakin Alex, Okpoh Felix, Olorunyomi Micheal, Uzuh Richard. Their names were also included in Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) specially designated nationals list, under the section of “cyber-related designation”.

The alleged fraudulent acts were committed between between 2015 and 2017, according to the statement and nothing was said about their arrest nor the bases of the six persons sanctioned.
