ANC Announces Kibra Party Candidate – Raila’s Former Ally Eliud Owalo
With the coveted Kibra seat still up for grabs, Raila Odinga’s old mate Mudavadi just provided a candidate to represent his party, Amani National Congress (ANC). On Wednesday, Musalia Mudavadi announced that Eliud Owalo will represent ANC during the Kibra Constituency by-election.
Eliud Owalo was previously allied with Raila Odinga as an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party member. He only recently parted ways with ODM by resigning from the rather crowded party to actually stand a chance in winning at the by election. The strategic move to ANC was in a bid to better his chances of clinching the seat in Kibra using a route that is indirectly related to his former boss Raila Odinga.
Mudavadi alongside other ANC party leaders issued Owalo with a certificate at their party headquarters in Lavington on Wednesday. Owalo will battle it out with an ODM and Jubilee party candidate for the much desired position. The ODM aspirants for the seat are set to battle it out on August 31st for the party ticket. Once that is done, Eliud Owalo will have a clear picture of who the competition will be from his ex party.
