Three days ago, netizens on twitter started a discussion on how Gengetone music is getting old.

Amid those discussions, a bunch of renown artists released a gengetone track dubbed ‘Nyoka Ya Shaba’. The song produced by Magix Enga is now trending at number 1 on YouTube.

So really, is gengetone dying? I think not…or at least not any time soon. Here’s the song Nyoka Ya Shaba that Kenyans are all talking about right now.

According to Magix Enga, the now trending song was conceived by Kiss 100 presenters Kamene Goro and Andrew Kibe. The two even feature in the music video.

As for the artists in the song, Magix Enga sings together with Exray, Timmy Tdat, Jua Kali, Kristoff and Harry Craze. Kiss 100 Producer Xtian Dela is also part of this new release.

The video actually debuted on Xtian Dela’s popular YouTube Channel. It so far has over 200K views, a number that is rapidly growing.

In the video’s description box, Xtian wrote “In a bid to keep the gengetone fire burning, Kamene Goro, Andrew Kibe and I sat down together.

We came up with the idea of bringing together the hottest Kenyan artists on one banging Kenyan jam that will further promote Kenyan music.”

The three radio personalities then approached producer Magic Enga aka Beat King to help them work on the beats.

They then drafted a list of the hottest Kenyan artists both old and new to feature in the song and voila! Nyoka Ya Shaba was born.

Despite the song trending, there are still those who think that gengetone is a waste of time.

A recent tweet on the issue of gengetone read ‘We can’t listen to the same topic daily, after one week we will get bored.

These music videos you can’t even watch in public, they are very disgusting and will drag our youth to mediocrity.

Let’s think of long term things that will be appreciated globally. There are many topics besides sex and drugs.”

That is just one opinion. To defend gengetone music however, an Arthur Gichuhi wrote “Kenyans are a funny lot.

You don’t want to promote the ghetto music from Kenya co it promotes drug use but when Chris Brown sings about p***sy or Migos about drugs ya’ll don’t complain…or is it coz its in English?”

Kiss 100 presenter Andrew Kibe who is a known play-boy has taken his womanizing ways too far. He was recently photographed grabbing the breast of another man’s wife – Star newspaper editor’s, Oliver Mathenge.

The photo which has made the rounds on social media has become a major topic of discussion. Oliver Mathenge has become an object of ridicule especially on twitter. It doesn’t help that his wife smiles happily in the photo clearly not minding being handled in a less than respectful manner.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that Oliver Mathenge is getting ridiculed over claims that his wife cheats. In the past, there were reports that Oliver caught his wife sleeping with his best friend.

However, it must be noted that Kibe is also being bashed on twitter. Many men are ashamed of his behavior saying that another man’s wife must be respected – that’s guy code.

The controversial Andrew Kibe found himself in a sticky situation over a large unsettled debt. The Kiss 100 presenter was arraigned in court on Wednesday for allegedly failing to pay a Ksh. 2.5million loan. He allegedly originally borrowed Ksh.215,000 from a former colleague. Court documents seen by Citizen Digital reveal that the said colleague is Joshua Ichang’i Weru.

According to the complainant Mr. Weru, Kibe borrowed the money seven years ago, to be paid back within 18 days. At the time, the two agreed on Ksh.55,000 as interest. “Failure to complete the above contractual obligation by 28/02/2012 incurs an additional penalty of 7.5 percent in the above mentioned interest for every four days exceeded from the disclaimer date,” court papers read.

However, the loan remained unpaid for years. As a result, it accumulated over the years and now stands at Ksh.2.5 million.

Kiss FM’s new morning show presenter Andrew Kibe recently confessed that he has not seen his son for over seven years now. According to the controversial presenter, his first baby mama with whom he sired the child has continually denied him access after he broke up with her.

The controversial radio personality made the revelation during Kiss FM’s breakfast show. This was after being asked by his co-host Kamene Goro “Who are you throwing under the bus this morning?” To this question he answered  “We produced a very strong offspring. Until five years old, I was given the chance to see him. I later married another lady and my kid’s mother cut me off. Since then, I have never seen my child for 7-12 years,” said Kibe.

Kibe went ahead to explain why he thinks his baby mama denies him access to their child. He said “She thought I would marry her, only for me to marry another woman, and I think that is what angered her.” Being Kibe, he added a touch of shade saying “She denied me access to my offspring. Now that is somebody I want to throw in front of a bus, and in case she survives the ‘accident’, I will step on her.”

Kibe’s message to women who deny men access to their children is this “It is very unfair for any responsible man to be denied access to their child. And any woman who does that ni mwenda (mad).”

For three months, the dynamic radio duo that is Andrew Kibe and Kamene Goro were unemployed. They were banned by the court from being on air after leaving NRG Radio and violating a non compete clause. On Monday however, they finally went on air with their morning show on Kiss 100 after the ban was lifted.

According to Andrew Kibe, his 3 month unemployment phase made him lose friends. He claimed that these so called friends left because they assumed he was jobless. Now that he’s back on air, they want to be part of his life again. Clearly, Andrew’s circle of friends included social climbers and gold diggers.

“People thought I was jobless. They ran away from me three months ago. Now is when you want to come back? Just because you think I am at Kiss I am now successful? Lose my number!!” said Kibe. In a post on Instagram, he wrote “After three months in exile full of endless drama it is time to get back on the airwaves. You all know the station. And tell your sister I’ve gotten a job so she can stop ignoring me.”
