The Nigerian House of Representatives has refused the suggestion of castration of guilty rapist to be passed into law.

Reports from The Nation says, the reps voted against petitions seeking every rapist found guilty and proven with evidence to be castrated to curb the rising cases of sexual violence in the country.

Mr James Faleke, a member of the House, raised the petition but it was shot down at a meeting or attended by all participants on Thursday.

Before the petition was voted on, the speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, questioned what would happen to an older female who rapes a younger male.

The majority in the House voted against the petition at the end of the meeting.

Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, also known as Peruzzi, has reacted after the internet brought out old tweets of him bragging about how much of a rapist he is.

The Nigerian singer and songwriter was captured in tweets as old as 10 and 7 years ago threatening to rape and also confessing to rape women if they disagree to his demands.

Some of his tweets read, “rape am if she no gree” and other demeaning utterances like “I will rape her”.

In responds to his old skeletons walking out of his broken closet, Peruzzi said he has never and will never be a rapist. This comes few hours after all the old tweets mysteriously disappeared from his timeline.

“MY NAME IS OKOH TOBECHUKWU, I HAVE NEVER AND WILL NEVER BE A RAPIST.”

His followers however accused him of deleting his old tweets and hypocritically denying his claims.

It is really true the internet never forgets. Some very old tweets sent by Peruzzi in which he bragged to be a rapist and advised others to indulge in the act has popped up.

In the tweet, the Nigerian musician bragged that he was going to rape any woman if they refuse to consent to his advances and encouraged people to do same.

Some of his tweets dates back as far as 2011 from Peruzzi’s old twitter account. The account which was confirmed to belong to him via a bio created for him in 2011.

Peruzzi already has some rape allegations leveled against him in 2012 and the saga has not settled although he has bluntly denied the accusation.

Nigerian singer and recording artist, Korede Bello has opined that government should consider castrating rapists as means to clampdown rape in the country.

Over the last few days, the topic of rape has been dominant and heavily discussed across many platforms after Uwaila Omozuwa, a Nigerian student, got raped and murdered in a church.

While the police is working tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to book, Korede Bello suggests every rapist that is arrested and proven guilty should be castrated.

On twitter, the Mi Casa singer joined the many who questioned why such inhumane act could be orchestrated at the presence of ‘God’ with the criminals going scot-free.

Meanwhile the Edo State Police Command has arrested on of the suspects linked to the rape and murder of Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa.

The Anambra police has arrested a 28-year old man for brutally raping a woman. The suspect, Emeka Okeke was said to have trailed the victim to a secluded place around the Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

The suspect then threatened the 36-year old woman with a gun later discovered to be a toy. He pushed his victim into the bush and forcibly had his with her while covering her mouth with his hand.

While leading the victim out of the scene, he found an uncompleted building at the university campus. Once again, he dragged the vitim there and raped her the second time before leaving her.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Haruna, confirmed the unfortunate news to the press as the police paraded the suspect. He said the suspect was arrested by a combined effort of the police and the vigilante group in the community.

He added that Emeka Okeke was recently released from prison after serving some jail time for manslaughter.The police has therefore called on all victims of the suspect to come forward and help in the prosecution of the rapist.
